Bengaluru: Rahul Gandhi to interact with select group of entrepreneur today

Bengaluru: Congress president, Rahul Gandhi will be in Bengaluru on Monday evening to hold discussions with a select group of entrepreneurs and is slated to hear their experiences.

After kickstarting his poll campaign in Kalaburgi, which is represented by Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, M. Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday morning, Mr Gandhi will land in Bengaluru in the evening to interact with the entrepreneurs at an amphitheatre at Manyata Tech Park in the city.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader said Mr Gandhi has been meeting entrepreneurs in the last couple of months to understand the challenges they face, policy hurdles and other barriers that need ironing out to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. The source added that the Congress president has been unsparing in his criticism of the Narendra Modi government’s inability to create enough jobs over the last five years, resulting in widespread unemployment and youth unrest.

The source disclosed that it would be a freewheeling interaction with no specific agenda.

“The broader idea is to understand issues pertaining to the start-up ecosystem and policy issues. The interaction is also part of the manifesto making exercise of the party,” the source explained.
