Bellamkonda Sreenivas should indeed have trusted his father for his experience, if nothing else. He had cautioned the young actor against taking up Teja’s directorial, Sita, over the other film that had narrated to him around the same time. Sreenivas even admitted in several interviews that his father had asked him to take up the second script yet he did not listen and now, Sita has bombed at the box office.
“Bellamkonda Suresh (father) had warned Sreenivas that the film would fail because both the story and his character in it were pretty weakly designed. However, Sreenivas barely even considered it and followed blindly what Teja had to say. That’s perhaps also why we never saw Suresh at any of the film’s events. He had good reason to be upset, after all,” said a source close to the producer.
“Now that Sita has failed to impress the audience, Sreenivas seems to have come to terms with his mistake as he apologised to his father for not listening when he should have,” the source added.
