Goundamani’s legal notice to Sixer team

The makers have been warned of severe legal action and defamation charges if the scenes are not removed.

Comali had been embroiled in controversy for demeaning Rajinikanth's political entry in a scene. The Vaibhav starrer Sixer, which released on Friday, is also facing a similar charge. In this case, veteran comedian Goundamani has sent a legal notice to the makers of Sixer asking them to remove the scenes in the film featuring his photos and dialogues from the 1991 film, Chinna Thambi in which Goundamani's character suffers from night blindness.

In the scene, Vaibhav's character portraying the grandson of Goundamani's 'Cook Kandhasamy' character in Chinna Thambi points at latter's portrait on the wall and says, "Thatha dei! Sirappa pannita da. Rathri laam enna akkramam panniyo, enaku aaru maniku mela kannu theriyama pochu da! (“Grandpa, you've done well! God knows what kind of atrocities you did at nights. I am suffering with blindness after 6 pm every day).”

Goundamani’s advocate has stated that the actor has taken it as an insult to have used his photograph and also copied his famous dialogues from the movie without his consent. The makers have been warned of severe legal action and defamation charges if the scenes are not removed. He also sought a public apology.
