Hyderabad: While painting a gloomy picture of the Indian start-up scenario, Intel India Country Head Nivruti Rai, on Monday, announced Intel’s plan to launch a new incubation centre in Hyderabad by March 2020.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Intel India design Centre in Hyderabad, Rai said, “Most Indian start-ups tend to die after five years…. Start-ups need to grow to the point that it will be able to sustain itself.”
Later on, while speaking to Deccan Chronicle, she added, “Most Indian start-ups tend to focus on e-tail or services. However, a start-up that is a product is more like to have a bigger impact not only on in India but also on a global scale.”
However, only innovation can help change the the gloomy scenario. Rai said, “We have already committed to set up an incubation centre here. We will now need to work through the logistics…. However, Incubation in Bengaluru or Hyderabad doesn’t mean that we will solicit only Bengaluru or Hyderabad start-ups. Show us the innovation.”
Meanwhile, Intel, hot on the heels of Amazon and OnePlus, stepped up its presence in the city with the formal inauguration of its Design Centre on Monday.
