Istanbul: In a horrifying incident, a 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death around 25 times by her ex-husband in Istanbul.
Mustafa Kara who had been divorced from his ex-wife Cigdem Koc for 10 years attacked her in the middle of the street at around 10 am when she was on her way to the post office.
He grabbed her by the hair and started stabbing her repeatedly as she fought to push him off. She collapsed on the street as the passers-by tried to tend her. The shocking incident was caught on a CCTV camera.
A stranger at the scene took Koc to the hospital and doctors took her straight in to surgery, but she could not be saved and died in hospital.
Meanwhile, passers-by and shop owners chased Kara and cornered him in a shop. Police officers took him into custody. He is facing murder charges and will be jailed for a long term if convicted.
Koc is survived by two children and husband.
