Georgia: Moment live TV debate turns violent as politicians get into fight

The fight broke out when one of the politicians called the other one a 'scum'. He also threatened to 'break a glass over his head'.

Tbilisi: A heated debate on a live TV show resulted into a fist fight between two Georgian parliamentary candidates.

According to a report in the Metro, during a live debate on the Qvemo Kartli TV network, politician Vepkhia Gurgenishvili from the Democratic Movement and Polad Khalikov from the Industrials political bloc engaged into a fight, before they were pulled off by the producers of the show.

The fight broke out when one of the politicians called the other one a 'scum'. He also threatened to 'break a glass over his head'.

The men soon took to physical violence after Gurgenishvili threw a pen at Khalikov. Both the politicians then started aiming punches at each others head, before the TV station staff intervened.
