Vuda to sell sites in three lay-outs by February 2010

Visakhapatnam, Dec. 26: The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) has set the stage to sell sites in its three lay-outs totalling 155 acre and also the first phase of its new “land pooling project” taken up at Paradesipalem by February 2010 in its attempt to generate revenue to the state exchequer. The Vuda has sanctioned Rs 4.4 crore for making infrastructural facilities in the “land pooling project”. Earlier, it used to sell the land in acres and as the real estate business is now in a slow pace, it has decided to sell the land by making plots. Its earlier one or two similar projects done on experimental basis evoked good response from the public.

The Vuda is making layouts in 30 acre at Yendada, 25 acre in Madhurawada, and 100 acres in Gambheeram to cover all sections of people including LIG, MIG and HIG.

“We make all the layouts ready and go for sale through auction by February 2010”, said the Vuda vice-chairman, Mr V.N. Vishnu. Though it was earlier decided to take up the auctioning process by now, the officials thought that the public may not turn up to purchase plots as this was not an auspicious period.

As there were some pending court cases in Vuda’s “land pooling” project at Paradesipalem, it decided to take up the work initially in the land, which was not covered by disputes. The project was taken up in the government land as well as in the private land abutting to the government land for which the Vuda will give 1,800 sq yards per acre to the farmers after laying out the land which either can be sold directly by the farmers or through Vuda.
