Though the GMC had plans to develop the park, they were not implememted due to resource crunch. If the park is developed the corporation will get more income through entrance fee. Recently, the Guntur mayor Mr Rayapati Mohana Saikrishna met the minister for tourism Ms Geetha Reddy and requested her to develop parks. He also explained the need to develop NTR Manasa Sarovaram Park in Guntur. Ms Geetha Reddy assured cooperation for the development of the park and said, she would send a team to the park very soon.

The park was built in 56 acres of land on the city outskirts by the Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Managalagiri Urban Development Authority. For better maintainance, the UDA handed it over to the GMC. At present there is need to take up repairs to the roads in the park. Water fountains are not working properly. Drinking water is also not available in the park.

The visitors have to purchase mineral water bottles in the park. For beautification of the park there is a need to trim the trees.
