The Chilakaluripet MLA and Telugu Desam district president, Mr. Prattipati Pulla Rao, demanded that the Centre bring out a national policy for the formation of new states. He alleged that the home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, was favoured the formation of small states. He reminded that Mr Chidambaram wrote a book on the significance of small states.

The people residing in coastal districts, Rayalaseema, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Sanga Reddy districts are willing to live together, but the leaders are demanding the T state, he said.
