After giving the CPI-M politburo and the state secretariat meetings a miss, the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, has fuelled speculation about a rift with his party by staying at a forest guest house near Siliguri for almost a week, even as a newspaper report here said he had resigned.
