Though six new express trains have been announced for Tamil Nadu by Union minister for railways Mamata Banerjee in the budget on Friday, the state has been neglected without any major project related to infrastructure development.
The Trinamool Congress chief and railway minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, on Friday lost no opportunity to needle West Bengal's ruling Left Front when she proposed a new rail line from Singur to Nandigram and sops for Lalgarh - areas in the state that have witnessed violent anti-Left agitations.
Railway minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday announced the introduction of 57 new trains in the country. The trains cover almost the entire span of the country with an attempt made to connect all the major cities in different regions of the country.
