An alleged official note sent to Apple staff reveals that the keynote could be held on September 17.

Apple is expected to continue its ritual of launching its flagship iPhone in September. The company is rumoured to announce the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus at its annual event. An alleged official note sent to Apple staff reveals that the keynote could be held on September 17.

The staff note mentions blackout dates from September 17 to November 4, when the AppleCare staff will be most busy. September 17 is on a Sunday, but it’s highly unlikely that the event will actually be held then, since the previous event have been held on a Wednesday.

The memo posted by Benjamin Geskin reads, "As you know, there are new product announcements and launches in September." Geskin has previously shared many rumours about the iPhone 8, however he said he wasn’t sure of some information he shared.

Apple fanatics will have to wait for the company to make the launch date official. Until then we request our readers to take this piece of information with a pinch of salt. Some reports also claim that the iPhone 8 can also be delayed due to production issues.

There are rumours about the iPhone 8 featuring an optical Touch ID built upon its OLED display. The optical fingerprint sensor will enable users to unlock the device by placing their finger anywhere on the screen.

Besides, the smartphone is also expected to come with wireless charging feature. It will also come with 3D facial recognition and augmented reality features.
