Xiaomi to launch Mi Note 2 today: Here's all you need to know

Xiaomi is set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi Note 2 today. The launch event will reportedly take place in Beijing and will kick off at 11:30am IST (2pm CST) and will be live streamed on their official website.

The company had already confirmed that the upcoming Mi Note 2 will feature a dual-edge display in a tweet last Friday. Moreover, numerous leak reports even suggest that the smartphone will come equipped with a dual-camera set up, an iris scanner and a large battery.

Xiaomi will reportedly be launching two models namely, a 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage model at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 27,800) and a 6GB RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage model at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 29,800).

Apart from that, the smartphones will feature a 5.7-inch Super Amoled display similar to its previous flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 5s. The upcoming devices will be powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and as far as the camera is concerned, the device is expected to sport a 23MP and 12MP dual rear cameras with Sony IMX318 sensor along with a 8MP front camera.

Other speculated features include its 4100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and 4G VoLTE , Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz) MU-MIMO, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity options.
