itel has announced its successful sale of 1 million handsets in India. The company has launched 15 products so far, including eight feature phone and seven smartphones.
itel Mobile forayed into the Indian market with a variety of communication devices, which include feature phones priced at less than Rs 2000 and smartphones available for less than Rs 10000.
Currently operating in 11 states in North India including Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, the brand has aims to gain a signifiant foothold.
The brand aims to take the number of distributors to 1,000 and retailers to 80,000 by the end of this year in order to provide a larger consumer base ready access to its value-driven offerings.
itel Mobile will also open 1,000 service centres across the country by the end of 2016. Consumers currently enjoy a 100-day replacement warranty offering on all itel products.
Brand itel has recently ranked as 51st in Brand Africa 100 Most Admired Brands 2015 by Africa Business Magazine, Africa’s largest business magazine. The distinction was achieved for its contribution in improving the lives of the African people.
