Razer phone's camera to get even better: CEO

The company isn't fully satisfied with the experience that the handset's cameras (8 MP front, dual 12 MP rear) are currently offering.

Razer phone is one of the most compelling smartphones which came out this year. It launched in the US last week. While everyone praised Razer for offering world’s first mobile display having 120Hz refresh rate, which is a boon for gamers, the early adopters weren’t thrilled with the camera’s picture quality in challenging scenarios,

Razer seems to be has taken note of that and the company isn't fully satisfied with the experience that the handset's cameras (8 MP front, dual 12 MP rear) are currently offering. Thus, the company is working on software updates to improve things.

According to a Facebook post by Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, over the next few weeks, the Razer Phone will receive software updates bringing enhancement related to low light camera performance and "many other optimizations" (all related to the camera app). In the coming months, the camera app will also get an "instazoom button" (to better make use of the rear shooter's 2x optical zoom), plus "4x slow motion" (120p) video recording capabilities.

Further, In the first quarter of 2018, the Razer Phone will be updated to Android 8 Oreo. This update will include even more camera improvements, like portrait mode, 60fps videos, and increased overall stability.
