New renders of Nokia 7.1 Plus have surfaced online

These rumour based renders show what the Nokia 7.1 Plus will look like once it hits the shelves.

Late last month Nokia announced the 6.1 Plus and in a few short days, the 5.1 Plus will hit the Indian market. If you think that these were the only handsets in the series, then you are mistaken as Nokia is preparing to launch the 7.1 Plus as well. As of now, details are slim regarding what features will be added in, a new report by MySmartPrice, however, has acquired rumour-based renders from serial tipster @OnLeaks that give us a fair idea of how the handset will look once launched.

From these images, we can see the slim side bezels and a notch that’s not big. The rear of the handset features a glass panel and it comes with a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor.

Also, an image has surfaced on Baidu which supposedly shows the rear panel of the X7 (Nokia 7.1 Plus) that looks like its built using anodised aluminium. Apart from the rear not being made in glass, the rest of the features remain the same. We also find the Android One branding at the bottom.

A recent report shows the Nokia 7.1 Plus with the glass-metal sandwich design with usual button placements. The new model could replace the existing model and adopt the new design language that the rest of the Nokia’s lineup is slowly being treated to. The 7.1 Plus will feature a new 19:9 display with a notch on top. The notch is more akin to the one in the 6.1 Plus and only holds a single camera as well as an earpiece. However, there’s a rather thick chin present at the bottom.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus is expected to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 710 10nm chipset that’s paired with up to 6GB of RAM and will have 128GB of onboard storage. There have been rumours floating around which indicate that the Nokia 7.1 Plus will come with 8W fast charging and will run Android 9.0 Oreo out of the box.

As of now, one should take this with a pinch of salt; however, it has a trust score of 100 per cent so there could be some weight behind these rumours. When launched, the 7.1 Plus could replace the 7 Plus and sell for a similar price tag. As for when this device will be launched in India, our best bet is before the end of this year with a global release prior to that.
