Pre-booking for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus begins in India: price, where to buy

The devices will go on sale in the country on September 29 a week after their US debut.

Apple has begun taking pre-bookings for two if its latest iPhone models, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, from today (Sept. 22) in India through major retailer outlets, including Reliance Digital.

The devices will go on sale in the country on September 29 – a week after their US debut. They will be available in three colour options — Space Grey, Gold and Silver and two storage options — 64GB and 256GB. The 64GB iPhone 8 will cost customers Rs 64,000, while the 256GB iPhone 8 variant will retail at Rs 77,000. The 64GB iPhone 8 Plus will be available at Rs 73,000 and its 256GB will carry a price tag of Rs 86,000 in the country.

Amazon India has already started taking pre-bookings for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, accompanied by a series of offers: A 'Special Jio Offer', under which Reliance Jio is offering 70 per cent buyback on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus’ original purchase price on return of the device after a year.

An Exchange offer: The website is offering an extra Rs 10,000 off on exchange of iPhone device.

Furthermore, Amazon India is also offering an additional Rs 10,000 cashback on using Citibank cards and no EMI cost.

On the other hand, its e-commerce combatant, Flipkart has also listed the two handsets for pre-booking. Similar to Amazon India, Flipkart is offering no cost EMI options. Additionally, it is offering 10 per cent off on SBI cards, 5 per cent on Axis bank cars and 10 per cent off on making payment through PhonePe wallet.

The phones will also be available for pre-bookings at Reliance Digital outlet, Jio Stores and Jio.com website, between Sept.22 and Sept. 29.

Customer can avail for the Rs 10,000 cashback on the models during the pre-bookings period on jio website via Citibank cards. As mentioned above, jio is allowing customers to claim 70 per cent buyback on original purchase price if they return the handset after a year.

Offline, Redington India has confirmed to take pre-orders for both the models from 3,000 stores across India. Also, Croma, Maple and other are expected to open pre-order window for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus anytime soon.
