Only two 2018 iPhones have bigger batteries than their predecessors: TENAA

The iPhone XS has a smaller battery than last year's iPhone X.

Last week, Apple unveiled its new range of iPhones and fans around the world went berserk after the new features. The improvements to the camera and the processing power have made the XS series much more powerful than the previous generation. Apple touts a better battery life as well, but they didn’t mention the exact numbers. However, we now have a figure.

The new iPhones recently passed certifications at China’s TENAA and in the process have thrown up their actual battery capacities. The iPhone XS, which is the successor to the iPhone X, is kept alive by a 2658mAh battery. This is slightly lower than the 2716mAh unit on the iPhone X.

The bigger iPhone XS Max is powered by a 3174mAh battery, which is responsible for giving the phablet 90 minutes of additional stamina over the iPhone 8 Plus. The cheaper iPhone XR with its 6.1-inch LCD display contains a 2942mAh power tank. Apple claimed the XR will easily achieve the longest stamina, which could be due to the low-resolution screen and Apple’s intense optimisation.

Do note that these figures are from China and there could be a high possibility that figures may differ from those of the international markets. The Chinese model is already known to have a different dual SIM slot than the global version — Apple will offer a conventional type of dual SIM slot as seen on Android smartphones. The global variants will offer with one physical SIM tray, with other number having to rely on e-SIM.
