iPhone SE 2 scrapped, big iPhones only for 2018: Report

A new leak suggests that Apple has shelved plans for the iPhone SE 2 and will only build larger iPhone X models.

In the past, there had been a lot of leaks and rumours suggesting that Apple would be releasing a successor to the iPhone SE with a notch for Face ID just like the iPhone X released last year. A new leak by case manufacturer Olixar has revealed that plans have been shelved for an iPhone SE 2 and the Cupertino smartphone brand will only release larger models.

As per a report by Forbes, Gordon Kelly states that having repeatedly claimed Apple would produce a 'mini iPhone X' no larger than the iPhone SE (and produced the schematics to prove it), Olixar now state that new sources have confirmed Apple’s new models will instead be the largest iPhones it has ever made. In fact, Olixar is so confident in this information it has started production on its official line of accessories.

So essentially, this means that plans for a 5-inch iPhone have been shelved. The 5.8-inch iPhone X will be alongside a new 6.1-inch budget iPhone X and a 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus.

The report goes on to vouch for Olixar’s credibility by stating that in the past, they have successfully leaked accurate designs of the iPhone X, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 7 and the iPhone 7.

Take this piece of information as you wish as these are still in the rumour phase. All will be known once Apple takes to the stage in just a few months to announce the launch of their new iPhones.
