Xiaomi's 'lanmi' phone launching on July 26 with 6GB RAM; may named Xiaomi 5X

The handset will operate on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with MIUI 9 atop.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is reportedly launching a new sub-brand named ‘lanmi’ to compete against rival Oppo and Vivo in offline market. The first device to be launched under the brand name was rumoured to be called ‘Lanmi X1’, but recently surfaced leaks suggest it would be named Xiaomi 5X and will launch on July 26.

In the new leaked poster, the Xiaomi 5X smartphone is touted to feature a 5.5-inch display, powered by Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM, and will cost 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 19,999). The model teased in the poster is speculated to be a standard variant of Xiaomi 5X, while earlier rumours suggest the first 'Lanmi' phone could be powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM, offering 64GB/128GB storage options.

In the poster, the phone is also shown to come with a dual-camera setup, reaffirming earlier rumours that Lanmi's design will likely resemble to that of iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5 smartphone. The handset will operate on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with MIUI 9 atop.
