Smartphone brand Xiaomi has launched the latest smartphone in its Redmi 8 series, and this one is called the Redmi 8T smartphone, unveiled at an event in Madrid, Spain. While it has currently been released for European audiences, it shall ship only from the 13th of November at a price of roughly Rs 14,000 (3GB RAM + 32GB variant) or Rs 19,600 (4GB RAM + 128GB variant).

A Xiaomi executive at the launch event said that NFC has been one of the highly demanded features from its customers. Thus the phone comes with NFC support accompanying an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE processor paired with Adreno 610 GPU and up to 4GB LPDDR4X RAM.

With NFC, another prominent feature of the phone is support for 18W fast charging, powering a 4,000 mAh battery. It is the phones’ fast charging capabilities and NFC support that essentially set it apart from its predecessor, the Note 8 Pro.

It shall be available in colours of Starscape Blue, Moonlight White, and Moonshadow Grey with a Corning Glass 5 finish over them. The back of the phone in the meantime will feature a quad-camera set up with a 48MP lens as its primary camera bearing an f/1.79 six-piece lens and an 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Besides, it will be two, 2MP depth sensors and macro lenses and nearby, a fingerprint sensor.

On the front, however, will be a 13MP sensor on a 6.3-inches FHD+ display. There is no news about the phones’ launch in India yet.
