Apple may not release a new iPhone SE model, claims Analyst

The company plans to extend the current iPhone SE's life cycle.

Apple unveiled the iPhone SE – a new addition to their iPhone flagship family back in March this year. The Cupertino-based company expected the gross margins of this particular smartphone to cross 39 per cent within a year's time in the market.

However, during the latest conference call, Apple announced that the iPhone SE’s gross margins were reported to be somewhere between 38 per cent and 38.5 per cent.

While Apple hasn’t confirmed any more additions to the current iPhone SE flagship, according to a well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company won’t be releasing a new iPhone SE model any time soon.

Kuo believes that the reason behind Apple’s speculated decision may have something to do with the company's latest iPhone 8’s sales.

The company is predicted to experience a reduction in the sale of iPhone 8 if they launch a new, smaller and more affordable version of iPhone SE.

Kuo further goes on to mention that Apple may not launch a new iPhone SE in the second fiscal quarter of 2017 either.
