Volkswagen I.D electric car for 2020 370 miles on single charge

Volkswagen unveils its fully electric I.D. car at the Paris Motor Show.

Volkswagen held a press conference at the Paris Motor Show on 28th September, unveiling its first fully-electric I.D. concept car. The Volkswagen I.D. concept is merely a preview of a high-volume battery-electric vehicle that is expected to be available in the market by 2020.

There aren’t too many details that have been revealed at the moment. However, we do know that the vehicle is going to be powered by a 125kW electric motor and will deliver a range between 400km to 600km. The vehicle will also be among the first to be developed under a new architecture called Modular Electric Drive (MEB), which is specifically designed for electric vehicles.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a steering wheel that retracts into the dashboard when the car is driving itself as reports suggest there are also plans to include automated driving in the I.D. by 2025.

Volkswagen aims to introduce over 30 electrified vehicles by 2025 and sell over three million of those vehicles in a year.
