Google to bring the Android Nougat 7.0 in August

The new Android OS will not be available for Nexus 5 users.

Well-known tipster Evan Blass has announced on his Twitter account that Google will be launching its Android Nougat 7.0 operating system next month, with the latest 8/5 security patch.

The twitter post also indicates that the new Android OS will not be available for Nexus 5 users. Earlier this month, the company launched Android Nougat Developer Preview 5, which only worked on Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus 9G, Nexus Player and Pixel C.

The new operating system brings a split screen option for smartphones and tablets, allowing users to open two apps at the same time. The new OS will also enable users to reply to messages directly from the notifications.

Android Nougat 7.0 will also have a new quick setting menu. Nexus owners will also be able to sort quick settings switches. Bundled notifications is another feature, which will group notification cards together if they're from the same app.

The Doze mode will witness some improvements and users will get information on the origin of the app, weather it is downloaded from Play Store or downloaded as an APK.
