Based on the details spotted on the image of the money bill, the bill was issued to a Reliance Jio customer named Ayunuddin Mondal of Kolkalta. In a statement to Deccan Chronicle, Reliance Jio has confirmed that the bill being circulated around social media platform is fake, and has been circulated to create panic among Reliance Jio customers.

"The bill in circulation is fake. Currently, we are offering services under “ Jio Welcome Offer”, and we reassure our existing customers as well as potential customers who subscribe to Jio connection till 3rd December that benefits of free unlimited voice and data will be available to all till 31st December 2016," a Reliance Jio spokesperson told Deccan Chronicle.

In September, Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio was officially launched in the country. To expand its services, Reliance Jio began offering the services under Jio Welcome offer, allowing customers to avail free unlimited voice and data till December 31, before establishing itself as a fully fledged network.

According to some industry analysts, and a few online reports, Reliance is rumoured to extent the free offer to March 2017 as many people have not yet managed to avail the offer and test out the 4G services. Rumours also state that the company is expected to announce the ‘extend of service’ on December 28, 2016 at an event in Mumbai.
