Photography is an art form and the interpretation of the details in a picture which can lead to fascinating discoveries about the subject’s disposition, their emotional turmoil through joy, sorrow, wonder and sympathy. It is an art which helps us to narrate a story, without penning down a thousand words. In the recent times, photography as a space has changed manifolds, with various types of photography budding in and gaining popularity. There has been a surge in public interest in these various types of photography, and the devices for these trends.
As we continue to absorb amazing pictures every day, some of the biggest trends to explore this season are:
Wedding photography – These days, photographers offer unique styles beyond just portrait, family images. For example, for the pre-wedding session contrast the elegance of a bride against the urban grit of cities. Whether it is a collection of photos or rich video clips of moments, a wedding is a stage full of emotion awaiting your version. To avoid any motion blur, use a fast/prime lens and keep the shutter speed around 1/125. Also, most of the Indian weddings happen at night, try using flash in low light conditions for better results. We suggest using Nikon D7200 and Nikon D750 for wedding photography. As for lenses, We would suggest NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8.
Astro-photography – Capture dynamic photographs of the night sky, including the stars as pinpoints of light and star trails. If a scene has a busy foreground, stars represented as isolates may complement the scene. Explore with time-lapse movies of the stars as they move across the sky during the course of an evening. Long exposures of the night sky enable pick up of the fainter light of the Milky Way, use Manual Mode exposure or the Bulb mode for best results. When the moon is bright, let the foreground be lit by its light, while on cloudy nights, add an interesting aspect to night photography with the stars peeking through to create a sparsely dotted sky, but try shooting in total dark areas. Try using a remote trigger to avoid any movement of the camera which may blur the picture. What’s essential is a Tripod and F-mount compatible telescopes. My personal favorite camera for capturing those stunning night skies is Nikon D810A.
Winter photography – With any Nikon D-SLR, opt for the Matrix metering and aperture-priority exposure mode to earn terrific pictures of the landscape. Add contrast to your image by featuring a colorful subject to a snowy backdrop. Additionally, through the entire experience, take special care of your camera and other equipment in the cold weather to avoid fogging. If you’re travelling in extreme temperatures, we would recommend a camera with a magnesium alloy built. Nikon D5, Nikon D810 and Nikon D500 are the perfect cameras for this.
Photography during holidays – The current season, spring, provides for the most-picturesque moments. Get amazing shots of soft colorful globes of light by selective focusing camera to keep lights out of focus. Candid pictures of people when they are immersed in various activities like, dinner preparations, gift wrapping, chatting, table setting or the children decking up the walls give the best results. Clicking pictures during a holiday should be the easiest job, therefore compact digital cameras work best as they are convenient with options for various Scene Modes, which makes it easy to get well-lit and crisp images in a variety of situations. Nikon COOLPIX range is specifically made for such occasions. And in D-SLR’s we would recommend Nikon D3400 and Nikon D5600.
