Airbus to work on flying cars

Airbus Group experts are looking skywards to develop radical concepts.

Urbanization has become a common phenomenon is most societies. Growth of industries has contributed to the growth of cities and this has, undeniably, led to significant changes to take place. Chief among the problems is our present-time unbearable transportation conditions.

To encounter this, Airbus Group experts are looking skywards to develop radical concepts that will relieve urban congestion. A3, the company’s innovation outpost, will play a major role in realizing this vision.

In fact, A3 project executive, Rodin Lyasoff and his team are actively pursuing a project coined Vahana, an autonomous flying vehicle platform for individual passenger and cargo transport.

"Given today’s technological and business constraints, most smart city concepts completely ignore flying. That’s why we’re convinced that this represents a truly disruptive opportunity for Airbus Group," said Vassilis Agouridas who is a part of Airbus Helicopters.
