Mumbai: In a move to allow users to make money, social media giant Facebook is planning to roll out a new feature that will allow members to receive ‘tips’ on their posts.

According to a report by The Verge, the new feature, dubbed ‘Tip Jar’, will help users significantly in making money or promoting a cause via a post. This will help users take a cut out of Facebook’s earns from a single post.

A survey conducted by Facebook asked users to asked users to give their thoughts on the ‘call to action’ button, which is a way to let followers make donation, and also ‘a sponsored market’ place to connect users with advertisers.

It still remains unclear whether Facebook is introducing the new post feature for everyone or only verified users.

Facebook is also working on ads that pop up within the suggestions after a user watches any video, thus sharing money with the publisher of the video.

Over the past couple of months, the company has been working relentlessly to come up with long-term monetisation services for users.

A similar revenue-sharing programme for select users was initiated by Video streaming site Youtube in 2007.
