Samsung Galaxy S9 will have Galaxy S8's display

There will however, be a second variant called the S9+ which will have a bigger 6.2-inch screen.

According to a new report which has surfaced in the mobile industry, unnamed sources have stated that Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S9 will use the same screen size and shape as the current model.

The report has stated that Samsung Electronics recently informed its display-making unit, Samsung Display, of the display specifications of the rumoured Galaxy S9 device, which the Korean tech giant is looking to unveil in spring next year.

It looks like Samsung has no absolute interest in increasing the size of the display of the Galaxy S9, nor modify the shape of the display screen. The display in question is the one we find on the Galaxy S8 model.

There will however, be a second variant called the S9+ which will have a bigger 6.2-inch screen. The report has also stated that Samsung’s next lineup of flagship smartphones will incorporate the similar “Infinity Display” as the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+.

We are hoping Samsung is planning to go for innovative technologies, like on-screen fingerprint scanning, which Samsung is rumoured to attempt to implement in the Galaxy S9.

Galaxy S8 has no home button, something the Apple also plans to introduce in the iPhone 8 later this year, but due to technical issues, Samsung was not able to implement this cool feature in its current flagship.

So for its next flagship phones, Samsung looks like it is not interested to take many risks, the reports stated.
