Instagram stops notifying users when a Story is screenshot

Instagram has rolled back on the feature that was in beta testing that notified a user when their Story was screenshot.

Back in February, Instagram was trialling a feature that would notify its users when an Instagram Story was screenshot. This was only in the beta testing phase and only certain users were a part of the programme.

However, this feature was met with quite a fair bit of backlash as users had become accustomed to taking screenshots of Story posts. Now, as per a post on Buzzfeed who contacted Instagram state that this feature has been pulled back and will not be rolling out to anyone.

With this feature pulled, one can go back to taking screenshots of all Instagram Story posts as much as they please.

In related Instagram news, Instagram is set to roll out its long-form video format on June 20. The company will be hosting a special event this month where it is expected to unveil the new hub.

Instagram's long-form video hub is said to allow creators to upload 4K resolution full-screen videos longer than the current 60-second limit. These videos will also allow for monetisation.
