Apple is working to turn iPhone into 'One-Stop Shop' for Medical info

Apple has been involved with health IT industry groups that are looking out for ways to put the plans into action.

A ‘secret’ Apple team is working to incorporate a technology within iPhones to help user track record their medical data, including lab results, medications and doctors’ visits.

The “secret team” is said to be in talks with developers, hospitals, and other industry groups about storing clinical data on the iPhone, helping Apple customers to get an overall picture of their health data.

According to a report by CNBC, Apple has been involved with health IT industry groups that are looking out for ways to put the plans into action. The health IT industry groups include ‘The Argonaut Project,’ a private sector initiative that is promoting the adoption of open standards for health information, and ‘The Carin Alliance,’ an organization that is looking to give patients a central role in controlling their own medical data, reported CNBC.

The move will remove existing barriers between medical industry and patience, and help them communicate smoothly on a single platform.
