Microsoft is going to pay you $850 for your Apple device. Find out how

The first question here is, “Do you have an Apple MacBook lying around?â€

Microsoft is again trying to get Apple customers to switch sides and go for a change of the whole system. Microsoft wants you to go for a Surface, but this time with a trade-in program which allows MacBook and iPad users to exchange their devices for store credit when they are purchasing one of Microsoft’s models. Microsoft has explained that the offer is valid until July 31 while supplies last. Also, the exchange amount is subject to the user device condition.

The company is going to run the latest campaign in the United States and Canada, and every Apple MacBook and iPad are part of the promo, though it is worth knowing that the amount of money you would receive depends on various factors, including the condition of the device you agree to trade in.

Microsoft has explained that the offer is live until July 31 while supplies last. Most of the Surface models are included which means you can trade your MacBook or iPad for a Surface Pro 4, a Surface Pro, a Surface Book, or a Surface Laptop.

There are conditions however. The device should power on, and the battery must hold charge and not be required to remain plugged in to operate. Microsoft has stated that the device should have no missing components, and should include original charger and accessories. The device should also have no physical damages like broken displays, liquids, or other customisations.

Microsoft has used this as an opportunity to show how easy it is to migrate from an Apple MacBook to a Surface, explaining that the Surface Migration Assistant performs the entire job for you.

The trade-in program is not available online, but is only available in physical Microsoft stores. Interested users will have to contact the nearest store to receive more information and get an offer for their MacBook or iPad, if they are truly committed towards buying a Surface device.
