Samsung launches Chromebook Plus V2 with built-in pen

The second-gen laptop features a 12.2-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and has a 300nits of brightness.

Samsung has launched the successor to last year's Chromebook Plus in the US. The laptop doesn’t come with major design modifications, but it does come with upgraded internals. The new 2-in-1 Chromebook Plus V2 sports a sleek and slim design profile.

The second-generation Chromebook Plus features a 12.2-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and has a 300nits of brightness. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the laptop is powered by an Intel Celeron 3865Y processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card. The Chromebook Plus V2 also comes with Intel HD 615 graphics. It is backed by a 39Wh battery.

In terms of optics, the laptop features a 13MP rear camera sensor and a f/1.9 aperture and autofocus capabilities. There is a 1MP front-camera sensor for video calling and selfies. Connectivity options include a USB 3.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card reader and two USB Type-C ports. It comes in only one colour variant — Stealth Silver. There are 1.5Wx2 stereo speakers and a built-in pen.

The convertible laptop will be available for purchase in the country starting June 24, with a label of $499.99 (approximately Rs 34,000).
