Google makes ordering food easier, ties up with Zomato, Swiggy

Google search will now directly show nearby restaurants and food delivery places after it tied up with Zomato and Swiggy..

In a bid to make its interface more user-friendly, search giant Google has tied up with restaurant search and discovery service Zomato and Swiggy to help users track down nearby places, from its native search service.

According to reports, the venture will help users to reserve tables at nearby restaurants and food deliveries from Zomato, and only food deliveries from other services such as Swiggy, Dineout and Bytplus.

From now, whenever users search for a restaurant on their smartphones, they will see options such as ‘Place an order’ or ‘Find a table’ in its native search results.

After making a preferred choice, the user will be redirected automatically to the mobile websites of these companies to complete the order.

In its official blog, Google said: “From today, when people search for a nearby restaurant on their phone, they’ll see an option to “Place an order” in the search results.”

The service has been made available on both iOS and Android platforms.

In addition to seamless food ordering and table reservation, Google has also announced another nifty feature in form of offline maps feature to facilitate long journeys without incurring large amount of mobile data.
