You need not worry about forgetting your driver’s license or car registration papers anymore. The Indian government announced today that citizens are allowed to upload their driver’s license and car registration card to their digital cloud storage, DigiLocker.
How to sign up?
You only need your mobile number for the purpose of registering on DigiLocker. Your mobile number will then be authenticated by sending an OTP (one-time password) followed by selecting a username and password. This will create your DigiLocker account.
DigiLocker provides users with 1GB storage space, which they can use to store college certificates, identification cards among other documents. These virtual copies will be deemed valid by the traffic police and other related authorities.
