Huawei teases new smartwatch, confirms launch date

Huawei has confirmed the launch date for its upcoming Huawei Watch GT 2 in a video posted on Chinese social networking website Weibo.

Tech-giant Huawei has confirmed the launch date for its upcoming Huawei Watch GT 2 in a video posted on Chinese social networking website Weibo. A very short video, it briefly shows the watch’s silhouette to reveals that it shall be holding the Kirin A1 chip inside, and then proceeds to announce its launch on September 19th.

Previous leaks have indicated that the new product will have a 445mAh battery which should give it upto 14 days of life. This is an upgrade, since the watch, whose predecessor Huawei Smartwatch GT used to have 420 mAh of battery. The phone is slated to come in two editions- Sport and Classic, one in black with a fiber band, while the other in silver with a brown leather band respectively. Apart from this, on the outside it will have a dual-crown design with stainless steel and ceramic bezels.

Other leaks have suggested that inside, it will support LTE connectivity, GPS and heart-rate sensors to track activities. It may even have a microphone and a speaker built inside the body.
