Wireless speakers have become so common that manufacturers scramble to differentiate themselves. One popular way is to incorporate lights in the speaker. Ambrane has gone down this path with the BT-6000 Touch Lamp speaker.
The 3-watt speaker is a chunky cylinder of sound with the grill on top. The built-in 1200 mAh battery is good for about four hours of play. The Bluetooth connects to other music sources or you can plug in a micro SD card or connect a device through the 3.5 mm AUX port.
The body of the speaker is one big LED lamp and you can use it two ways. A light tap on the speaker grill turns on the desk light mode and you can select one of three brightness settings. Press and hold your finger down for about two seconds and you go into the alternate multi-colour mode, where you can toggle to select any of seven colours. Cool!
There are standard features like speaker phone mode by Bluetooth-pairing with your phone. This will make a nice Christmas or NewYear gift especially as the asking price on web shopping sites is a good Rs 600 less than the MRP of Rs 1,999.
