The MOAI tank cleaner can clean tank wall automatically and keep a vigil on your fishes.

If you have pets, you always feel keeping them close to you, even when you are not at your place. If you have a cat or dog or anything that is noticeably large and can move around on itself, then CCTV cameras are your best bet. But what if your pets are confined within the glass walls of a tank filled with water? CCTV cameras are not of immense help in a keeping a vigil on fishes.

A new product on Kickstarter has come up with a device by the name of MOAI that is essentially a fish tank cleaner. However, this is an automatic fish tank cleaner that also has a full-HD camera for recording your fish tank fantasies. There are two units to the MOAI tank cleaner — one located on the outside of the glass and the other on the inside of the glass with an algae-scrubbing pad attached to the front. The two are attracted to one another through the glass via built-in magnets.

The outside unit motorised, which helps it move, which also moves the inside bar with it, scrubbing the algae away. The best bit about this automatic fish tank cleaner is that it can clean the tank on its own and return to the glass mounted charger when it’s on the verge of running out of juice. Users can set up a cleaning schedule via an accompanying iOS/Android app on their smartphone.

There’s also a 1080p camera to record the proceedings of your fish tank while sitting at your office desk. This will only be possible if the cleaner is connected to your home’s Wi-Fi network. Users can also take remote control of the cleaner and use their smartphone as a joystick to move the cleaner according to their heart’s content.

MOAI is right now a Kickstarter project that is yet to see commercialization. But when it sells, it will set your aquatic life-friendly heart $299.
