Everyone is raving about Katrina Kaif’s rain song in De Dana Dan, but by our reckoning Neha Dhupia is not far behind at all. Those who’ve seen glimpses of the film have raving about Neha’s sizzling avatar — she’s in better shape than ever and wants the world to know.
Recently, the actress told us that despite having played glamorous roles before, this new avatar is in a whole other league. “People have been giving me compliments on the way I have looked in the film. I hope it will be change from the roles that I did in the past,” says Neha.
She adds it was an absolute blast working on the sets. “We had an ensemble cast, and I was nervous in the beginning about how I would fit into a complete comedy like this one. It was a genre I have never attempted before, but I enjoyed it,” she says.
Having tasted success with Singh is King, another comedy with Katrina and Akshay Kumar, Neha thinks she has found her space. “I was critically appreciated and people have been complimenting me about my choice of roles too. Now on I am doing a lot of comedies. After this film, there’s Pappu Can’t Dance Saala and I am 24,” says Neha.
She faced a lot of flak for her entry in Bollywood with a couple of dare bare flicks that sank at the box office. Today, Neha is glad she has managed to keep her sex symbol status intact, while drawing appreciation for performances too. “My patience has finally paid off,” she says, “Every tagged me as just another sexy girl, but I have finally come out of that. For the last five to six years I did not do anything. I kept refusing a lot of films that came my way. But now I am doing big films and they are all interesting subjects.”
