Their aim: to promote Tamil cinema globally. With this in mind, Norway-based Tamil associations led by Vaseeharan Sivalingam’s VN Music Dreams along with Dhananjeyan of Moserbaer Entertainment, organized a first-ever Tamil Film Festival, which opened recently in Oslo on 6th February. Among the Tamil films scheduled to be screened at this four-day festival: Subramaniapuram, Pasanga, Nadodigal, Nandalala, Ee, Peraanmai, Yogi, Poo, Raman Thediya Seethai and many others. Special guests at the event included directors Sasikumar, Samudhrakani, Mysshkin and Jananathan. Speaking at the opening, Sasikumar said, “I was not sure whether I would be able to attend the fest since the shooting of my next film was going on in full swing. When I realised that it was a mammoth effort by Tamilians settled abroad to endorse Tamil cinema in the global arena, the gesture touched me and I made it a point to be here!”
