Odissi dance ballet enthralls Chennaiites

It was a splendid evening of art and culture when Sutra Dance Theatre, under the artistic direction of renowned Malaysian Odissi dancer Ramli Ibrahim presented the internationally acclaimed production Spellbound at Radisson Resort Temple Bay, Mamallapuram. Several art lovers from the city turned up to witness the spectacular musical unfold in front of their eyes. The show, saw the graceful dancers showcase the elegant moves that represented the Gods and Goddesses — Saraswati, Sri Krishna, Shiva and Surya. Speaking about the event, Ramli Ibrahim said, “It is always a pleasure for me to dance for Indian audiences as the appreciation I get here, I get from nowhere else.” Many well-known people from Chennai including dancer Gopika Verma came backstage after the performance to congratulate the maestro for his fabulous performance.
