Motorists must obey traffic rules properly
News in the media about the road accidents has become a daily affair. This mainly happens due to negligent and rash driving by the motorists. It is a known fact that as per the Motor Vehicles Act, all vehicles must be fixed with side indicators, which should be in working condition and use it while turning left or right side on the road. But barring a few, many others do not seem to bother to obey this rule, including MTC buses. This puts the other commuters, who obey the rules in difficulty. Will the traffic authorities please look into this and make the rule stricter in a bid to increase road safety?

Roads should be laid before heavy rains
The roads near the Ambattur Industrial Estate are not laid properly due to which the motorists face lot of inconvenience. And with the monsoon season beginning, it will only get worse. There are several offices and residences in the area but the authorities have ignored the locality completely. Even though we made complaints last year during the monsoon about the problems we faced, no action was taken. We hope this time the authorities take some steps towards rectifying it.

Free drinking water must be supplied
The outbreak of diseases is usually due to water contamination. It is the duty of the municipal health authorities and Metro water board to ensure supply of contamination free drinking water to citizens besides regular collection of water samples for analysis in the laboratory. Apart from this, the health authorities should insist that eateries/restaurants supply packaged water to consumers in addition to making it compulsory to have periodical health check for employees and cooks.
