John wants to take it slow

John Abraham is fast on the way to becoming a method actor a la Aamir Khan and now believes in getting into the skin of every character he plays before he starts shooting. The actor who is just back from a short holiday in Australia’s Gold Coast with girlfriend Bipasha Basu, will soon be flying to the US for a brief combat training session to prepare himself for Nishikant Kamat’s (of Mumbai Meri Jaan fame) next untitled film. “This is the way I’d like to work — prepare hard for a film, give it my best shot, then take a long break to unwind and start all over again,” says the actor, who has been missing in action, post his last film, New York.

Ask him why he has been taking on less work and John replies that he is in no rush. “I think this is the only way I can give a film the time it requires and do quality work. Currently, I have films with only four directors.”

While his film, Aashayein is yet to see the light of day, John is looking forward to the release of Hook Ya Crook.
