Modelling, anchoring, a hit single, a degree in law and business, DJ-ing and playing a Bond girl would seem like heavy credentials for anyone to carry. But they rest easily on Catherine McQueen’s shoulders. On a whirlwind tour of India, the Scottish beauty, who worked up a storm in the city, says, “I love coming to India as it’s so colourful and filled with amazing people. This is my first visit to Hyderabad and I loved the ride from the airport. I want to make another trip here to explore the city on a grander scale.”
Mention her role in the Bond movie Die Another Day and Catherine gets all excited. “I’ve always been in love with Pierce Brosnan and working with him was out of the world. My current favourite Bond is Daniel Craig.”
Catherine says DJing came her way by a stroke of fate. “I moved to LA a few years ago and a DJ friend needed a partner for her gig. I was game, which set the stage for my career,” says Catherine, who also sang on the dance track Time after Time by Koishii and Hush, which reached no 15 in the US Billboard Charts.
While the DJ admits she has not listened to much Indian music, the one desi thing she loves is palak paneer. “It’s yummy! When I tell my friends it has spinach and cottage cheese, they wonder how can anything with spinach taste good!”
