Gautam may only be three films old but he has the right attitude to stay here for the long haul.
He had earlier acted in Yakshiyum Njanum, Kasargode Kadarbhai and Raghuvinte Swantam Rasiya and though the latter two films did not set the screen on fire, he was noticed in Vinayan’s Yakshiyum Njanum.
This performance landed him the lead role in his upcoming Killipadum Gramam opposite Nakshatra. He is in discussion for a couple of roles in other films too.
Gautam plays the role of a real estate broker in Killipadum Gramam who leads a carefree life with friends when calamity strikes and he is forced to flee to a village where the story unfolds.
The actor was on a break for almost a year. “A ban was imposed on me until now and it has been removed and I am back in the reckoning.
You can call my next film my re-entry!” he says. Gautam has only good words for director Vinayan. He adds, “Yakshiyum Njanum gave me a label and people noticed me. In fact, the first time Vinayan saw me, he said that I had a ‘hero look’ and would become big.”
Gautam has always been interested in films and was an active participant in cultural programmes during his school days. He also has a plan B in place which is his business.
He muses, “Cinema is my passion as well as my profession and business is my base for the backup.”
