Proving that the Internet is vast enough to accommodate every human on the planet and then have some space to spare, two entrepreneurs have taken on the established social networking sites. Not daunted by the fact that almost everyone has a Facebook, Google+ or Twitter account, Bangar Reddy, a certified ethical hacker, and K. Shwetha, a software programmer, have ventured into the sphere that is social networking with an offering of their own – Wallpost.
The site professes to offer better usability and enhanced security. Wallpost started off as a photosharing website in December 2009, and is now in the beta stage as a social networking portal. The developers are busy creating a mobile version and an API too, and with it, Hyderabad’s very own social networking site will be ready to compete with the giants.
“During the development of this project we never gave up. Not once.” says K. Shwetha. While Shwetha looks up to Bangar for being so patient, the latter admires her for being a perfectionist. The duo now works with a team of seven. As of now, Wallpost is all they are concentrating on. With the effort this team is putting in, Mark Zuckerburg better watch out for some stiff competition. With added features like photo statistics and restricted access to personal information of users, it is likely to take a huge bite out of the American giant.
