Beauty on a mission

Beauty on a mission

The 2008 Miss World pageant’s first runner-up, Parvathy Omanakuttan, was in town to shoot for her upcoming Tamil gangster-thriller film Billa2 opposite Ajith Kumar. During her short visit, Parvathy made the time to interact with kids with special needs, distributed wheelchairs, and spent time at a charity event held by the Healthy Kids and Happy Kids foundation. “We were here shooting for my film Billa2. It was my last shot and we also shot a song. I just came for a day,” she said adding “It was great shooting at Ramoji Film City. The sets and location are so amazing. Everything looks so real!”

The actress has her fingers crossed and is hoping to be appreciated in the film. She said, “It’s a very special film and I have done my best. Working with Ajit and Chakri Sir was great. Ajit is a very humble and down to earth person.” About her charity work, she said, “Charity has always been very special to me, especially spending time with kids with special needs. I also think that parents of these kids need proper awareness to take care of them. It’s sad that the government doesn’t do enough for them, unlike many other countries. My aim is to create as much awareness as I can and help these children.”

On the city, she said, “Hyderabad has always been very special to me. I won the Miss India South pageant here, and my relatives stay here.” She signed off saying that for an Indian to be crowned Miss World again, the country needs to promote the participants. Something that she feels is lacking here.
