Artiste venturing solo

Rajeev
Rajeev

He has been the frontman for some of the most exciting acts in the city.

Now the musician has ventured solo and is planning to release a 60-song-anthology of his works, in five sets, the first of which will be out early next week.

Rajeev who has in past lead bands like Retronome, Stomp and Wolfpack says, “I wrote these songs in a time frame of over 20 years.” The musician who recently released a video for his single Never Should Have Gone, adds, “The anthology is basically the work of my entire life.”

He plans to release all of the songs by September 2011. Surprisingly, he’s also planning to have videos for 36 of the songs.

“Visual medium is the best way to promote music,” he adds.

Most of Rajeev’s songs talk about his personal experiences depicting different emotions. But, none of the songs are complicated or technical.

“All my songs are easy listen and don’t consist any technicalities of music. This is because I believe that the music I have created is a part of me and though, its raw, often un-refined, it’s yet very simple music. I don’t believe in composing songs which consist of 200 chords. I try to keep my songs simple so that they are an easy listen for the listeners,” he reveals.

After spending over two decades working with various bands and acts, the musician
confesses that he finally got ‘tired’ of the ‘band scene’ and wanted to venture ‘solo’.

What’ a better way than to release all the songs that he has ever composed!
