
At a time when films across the globe are increasingly getting shorter in duration, I wonder what will happen to filmmakers like me who include at least five songs in their films,” exclaimed popular Malayalam filmmaker, Lal Jose, at the recent audio launch of Meghamalhar.
Congratulating the young talent Damodar Narayanan, who has conceived the music album, Lal Jose, spoke about his early days when music videos proved to be a fruitful platform for most superstars.
Damodar Narayanan, who is an engineer by profession, says, “While listening to the song Malharile Ven Meghame, I instantly got an idea that rain can be the best theme for my first album.”
The album, which comprises eight songs, has reality show star Najim Arshad acting on screen for the first time.
Popular TV anchor, Parvathy, will also for the first time don the role of a lyricist for the song, Mukhilayi and the noted dubbing artist, Sreedevi, who sang for Archana Kavi in Lal Jose’s Neelathamara, has rendered her voice for this album.
Veteran lyricist of Malayalam cinema, Poovachal Kader, who has penned the lyrics for three songs in the album, is all praise for the young music director.
“The album is a symphony of love. Damodar has so beautifully rendered music to the songs that I see a highly talented musician in him,” he says.
Renowned singers, Sreenivas, Shwetha, Franko, Najim Arshad and Bhavya Lakshmi are also a part of Meghamalhar.
