Neha Dhupia is one happy actress. With two successive releases lined up before the year ends, the actress has a lot to look forward to. First is the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer, De Dana Dan and the other is the critically acclaimed Raat Gayi Baat Gayi which won the Viewers’ Choice award at the New York South Asian International Film Festival.
Speaking about De Dana Dan, Neha says, “I am looking forward to the film. It is a laughter riot and it would help if you don’t try and intellectualise it too much. It is an out and out commercial film and we had fun making it.”
The actress admits that comparisons are bound to arise when you have Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal coming together again after a hit film like Hera Pheri. “While it is alright to compare the film to some of Priyadarshan’s earlier works, it wouldn’t be fair to compare it with another director’s,” she says. “This one, of course, is packaged differently and looks like a modern day Priyadarshan comedy,” adds Neha, who plays a character that fools everybody in the film.
Meanwhile, the actress who has joined hands with a men’s cosmetic giant in its ‘war against the lazy stubble’ says she has no qualms acting alongside actors who sport a stubble. “In films, it depends on the character you play. It won’t be difficult to romance a guy with a beard in such a case. It is not about my choice in a film,” she smiles.
